Mark your calendars!  Start rounding up used books! A favorite event is coming in June...a ​Used and New​ Curriculum Fair!...where oodles of resources (curriculum, books, educational games, puzzles, etc.) will be available to browse and purchase.  ​While most vendors offer used items, there are often several new vendors as well.

Directions to church: *From Hwy 2...* go east on Mt. Spokane Park Dr. (near Yokes Market Shopping Center). Church is about 2 miles down on the left, next to Mt. Spokane High School. *From the valley...* I -90 to Argonne (north), (Argonne will change names to Bruce Rd. ) Follow north past Bigelow Gulch to Mt. Spokane Park Drive. At the roundabout, go left.  The church is about a mile down on the right, next to Mt. Spokane High School.

Do You Like Legos?

Let There Be Legos!  (At the local public libraries)

"Mix fun and learning by spending a Saturday creating engineering feats at the library! SCLD is hosting a series of day-long Lego Build Days, one at each library throughout 2014 and 2015. The library will provide thousands (current count is roughly
47,000270+ pounds which is about 150,000 pieces!) of Lego pieces for kids and families to build.

Drop in for an hour or all day! Doors open at 10am and we’ll finish up building by 5pm so that we have plenty of time to put the display together. Enjoy some snacks and build to your heart’s content. Your awesome creations will be on display at that library for the duration of the month. Then, they will be dismantled, sorted, and shipped off to the next library for their Lego Build Day! Feel free to follow the Legos to as many building days as you like!"

11th Annual Home Educators’ Day at the Capitol

Celebration Under the Dome Event

Space is still available. Deadline to pre-register is February 20th. Come join us for a fun-filled, information packed, and uplifting celebration of our homeschool freedoms. A great day of civics for the whole family!

* Hear from lawmakers
* Great fellowship with other homeschool families

The Annual Apple Pie Tradition continues. Thanks to our amazing volunteers,each year we have been able to bake and deliver 160 homemade apple pies to lawmakers!

Every year legislators and staff look forward to this event.  This is a wonderful opportunity to be a blessing to those in authority over us. Volunteers from all over the state bake pies and bring them to the Capitol, where homeschool families deliver them with a thank you card. A great opportunity for you and your children to meet with legislators & staff, show case home education, and let our light shine.

2011 Inland Northwest Homeschooling Conference

 Mark your calendars, sign up today!

 ~~~ March 25 – 26 ~~~


The 2011 Inland Northwest Homeschool Conference will be held in Spokane Valley, WA on March 25 – 26, 2011, and is being put on for us by Valley Home Scholars.  This conference will certainly offer lots of encouragement and support to homeschooling families.  This year's keynote speaker is Michael P. Farris, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association. Additionally, there will be various workshops and book purchasing opportunities.

Early registration is now in progress.

If you register for the Conference before February 26, 2011, you will receive an e-mail confirmation acknowledging receipt of your registration and then you will then be able to check in at the Express Check-in booth when you arrive at the Conference. And there is a special bonus to registering early:

Registrations received by February 26, 2011 will be entered into a drawing for a one-year membership to HSLDA.
